Job Description:
This position is responsible for development and oversight of all Aquatics programming for the Paul & Carol David YMCA, as well as oversight for the Schalmo YMCA. Working with branch executive directors ensure all programming, training, health and safety, and member satisfaction is a best-in-class aquatics program. Works closely with other aquatics directors to develop and implement strategic initiatives for aquatics.
This position will also be responsible for supervising one additional Full-Time Aquatic Director at another YMCA branch.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Preferred)
- At least four-seven (4-7) years of proven experience in leadership, management, and instruction in a wide variety of Aquatics programs and pool maintenance
- Current Lifeguarding and Water Safety Instructor certification. LGI and WSI certifications preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certified instructor (Red Cross or ASHI)
- Superior influence and management skills, and a demonstrated track record of achieving set goals
- Experience in recruiting, training, and leading a diverse staff
- Proven ability in creating effective class schedules, great member relationships and a great staffing culture
Physical Demands:
- Physically and verbally able to interact with members and staff.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Essential Functions:
- Work with executive directors and aquatics directors to develop, implement, and oversee all aquatic programs that reflect community needs and maintain the YMCA's high standards of quality, safety, and caring
- Develop a strong team to ensure a 'best in class' Aquatics program.
- Develop and deliver high impact training for the association
- Work with staff team and Schalmo Aquatics Director to ensure that pools meet all health and safety standards
- Work with aquatics directors to ensure that all staff have appropriate and updated certifications on file.
